Territory

Nature, history, flavor…
Abano and the hills have so much to offer!

The Euganean territory is a true jewel case of history, art and culture. Abano Terme was already famous in Roman times for the beneficial effects of its water and mud, as ancient texts and the archeological remains you can visit testify to.

Abano Terme - Montirone

The Montirone gardens, located just 2 minutes on foot from our hotel, reveal the ancient stone tubs where the thermal water once gushed out, surfacing from underground. The gardens lead to the pedestrian area of the city, which particularly livens up in the evening, with both tourists and locals, as well as inhabitants of near-by cities, who come to take a walk, enjoy the bars and ice cream parlors and window shop at the numerous boutiques.

Abano Terme is located at the foot of the Euganean Hills, gentle slopes of volcanic origin, a very green territory, full of trails you can travel on foot or mountain bike. The Hills enclose places that are truly worth visiting, such as Arquà Petrarca, one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Italy, the Praglia Abbey, the Monte Rua Hermitage and the San Daniele Monastery (the latter can also be reached on foot from our hotel!), Veneto villas and their lavish gardens, such as Valsanzibio, and the castles of Catajo, Lispida and San Pelagio with its air museum …

Praglia

In the heart of the Veneto

Furthermore, Abano Terme is located in a strategic position at the center of the Veneto region: in less than an hour you can reach the most important art cities, such as Padua, Venice, Vicenza, and Verona, always artistically and culturally stimulating, thanks to the countless museums, exhibits and events.

Il Santo - Padova

Padua: just 10 Km, it’s “the city with a saint with no name, a café without doors and a field without grass”, that is the city of Saint Anthony, Caffé Pedrocchi and Prato della Valle, apart from one of the oldest universities in Italy, Giotto's Scrovegni Chapel, squares and folklore.

Venice: 45 Km, can be reached by train (from Terme Euganee a direct line to Venice) or by car in less than 30 minutes. It is surely the most fascinating city, in any season of the year, with its islands joined by bridges, narrow streets, canals and gondolas, as well as the monuments that have made it recognizable by even the most distracted visitor, its romantic ambience, and the charm of the crossing of populations from time immemorial.

Venezia

Arena di Verona

Verona: 80 Km, the city of Romeo and Juliet and the Arena of Verona with its summer opera festival; but if you want you can stop first at Vicenza, where you can admire Palladio's architecture.

Good news for golf lovers:

there are 3 courses just a few kilometers from the hotel, surrounded by the nature of the Hills:

Golf Club Montecchia
27 holes, located in the estate of the counts Emo Capodilista in Selvazzano Dentro »

Golf Club Frassanelle
18 holes, located in the park of Villa Papafava (designed by Jappelli) in the town of Rovolon; »

Golf Club Padova
27 holes, located in the heart of the Euganean Hills in Valsanzibio in Galzignano Terme. »

Venetian Villas

The area of the Veneto Region is also enriched by wonderful ancient palaces known as the Venetian Villas: built by noble Venetians at the time of the Serenissima Repubblica maximum glory they are one of the architectural and artistic treasures of the Veneto Region. The Venetian villas are more than 4000 (200 of them are opened to the public) and they are collected along the road that takes from Mestre to Treviso (Terraglio), near to Brenta river that connect Venice to Padova (Villas of “Riviera del Brenta”), on hills of Treviso and Vicenza, on Euganean and Berici hills.
